Made from Tin covered with plush materials Peter the Drumming Rabbit marches forward while playing his drum. His head features lighted eyes and turns left and its all controlled by a two-battery and one-button wired remote control. The drum is hinged and folds down for storage in his colorful box which surely screamed "pick me up" from any 1950s toy store shelf.
Today Peter the Drumming Rabbit is a desireable vintage toy and is one of two drumming toys using the same "battery operated mechanicals" where they simply exchanged the plush exterior Peter the Drumming Bunny with an equally adorable Barney Drumming Bear.
There are also two more drumming toys using 80% of the same mechanism to play the xylophone (Musical Jackal and Musical Bear). All actions are the same except the "marching forward" action is replaced with a "swaying" action so the musician can play all the notes on the xylophone.
