This 1970 Ford Maverick trio brought to us by Bandai all look to be identical but one has a secret.
All three 1970 Mavericks share identical sheet metal (only the painted exterior color is different). They also share the same litho interior, identical front and rear chrome, interchangeable wrap around plastic windshields, and proudly display "Maverick" on the rear license plate.
Two of these cars (green & pink) feature a rear-wheel drive with a steerable front axle and an ON/OFF lever on the bottom passenger side of the car. The third car (silver) replaces the rear-wheel drive/steering axle with a mystery bump-n-go action AND a non-fall wheel to prevent the car from falling off a table-top. Now thats a secret to amaze your friends who "only" have the rear wheel drive version.
Today these cars are most collectible in excellent or better condition due to the mass production numbers and the Maverick was not the most popular model out there. Regardless of appeal these are quality toys and amongst the last fully metal toys before the dreaded plastic revolution. Long live the Maverick!
